Is there a good free programme to use for Web Design?

Many people who are new to designing websites don't know 'where to start'. It can often seem a bit overwhelming - especially since there seems to be an over abundance of material available on the subject.

If you are new to web design, or know very little about designing websites, there is a great program that can make it simple for you called Kompozer.

For many years, I avoided web design, thinking that it would be tough to learn how to do it, or that 'there was just so much to learn' then one day I decided to give it a go.

I surfed the net for advice (and there is plenty available) and eventually came across Kompozer.

Kompozer is free to download and free to use. It is a WYSISYG (what you see is what you get). In other words, you don't need to know much about HTML or web design to start using it. You can simply design your page with Kompozer and it writes the HTML for you.

It also has an HTML editor for those who know how to do this.

Kompozer - Free WYSIWYG web design

I used Kompozer as a 'training ground' to learn how to design websites. When I first started, I relied heavily upon it, using it for almost everything to design my first website.

Once I had grasped the basics of putting a website together, I started branching out and learning bits and pieces of HTML. Gradually I relied less and less upon the WYSIWYG editor and started writing the code myself.

Whereas my first website was designed totally using Kompozer, my next few were a combination of Kompozer and my own efforts with HTML code. Next I progressed to hardly having to use it at all.

The benefit of doing this is that I did not have to take the time to learn web design before being able to put together my first website. I was able to start designing with Kompozer, and learned along the way.

There are quite a few web design programmes around these days - some free and some you have to pay for. I have tried a number of them, and find that some are just overly complicated to learn. Others seem to have endless glitches or don't really do everything you need to do.

Kompozer combines ease of use with a full range of resources, and is easy to learn. Use it in your web design and you will not regret it
